Don’t care about the winner or loser in the second semi final of UEFA Champions League. Tonight, the world will be able to see the best football in this year. It is sad to see one will lose out in this round and other will reach to face Chelsea or Barcelona. It is pity to see Chelsea in the finals because we are going to miss a wonderful flowing football final in Rome. I don’t like to see the repetition of last year, which ended up in shootout. I prefer the finals between Barcelona and Arsenal or United. It will be better football match and better for the future of football.
Repetition of 2006 won’t be a bad idea but United is much stronger than Arsenal in all positions. Their injury woes are lesser than Gunners and they have more experienced players who can create havoc against any team in the world. I am little bit disappointed with the result of last days match, between Chelsea and Barcelona. Still I feel, Barca have advantage because of goal less draw. Chelsea managed well to defend the attacking verve of Barca but failed to get an away goal. So, next match they have to win at any cost. If it ends up in 1-1 draw will ends their hope to final and Barcelona is capable to create a goal from nowhere.
Apart from the traditional rivalry between Arsenal and United, the people expect more from both of them. There is no point in team comparisons. Everything will be decided on the pitch and better team will go to Rome. Arsenal will stick with their philosophy of ‘attack is the best defence’ and Manchester United will go for all options with them. They have world class attackers in Rooney, Ronaldo, Berbatov and Tavez and have more options in the midfield than any other team. Their defence is back from injury and started performing well. Unfortunately, the selection of the first team will be big headache for Sir. Alex. Interestingly, Arsenal manager Wenger is also facing similar dilemma, not because of abundance but scarcity of right players in particular positions.
It is difficult to say that this game depending on the performance of some particular players like Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Rooney or Tavez. Both teams have good players in various positions and even a player like Denilson is capable enough to get the decisive goal. So, the game will open and both teams will go for goal rather than defending for a goal less draw. Usually it is a battle between the team managers, but this time, it will be the fight between the teams rather than the tactics of managers.
I still expect one among them, Arsenal or United, will face Barcelona in the final at Rome. Arsenal visited Rome once and escaped with a shootout victory and United had experience in the last year when they lost out to Roma and defeated them badly in the return match at Old Trafford. Let’s see who is closer to Rome?
